Florence
Florence, the capital of Tuscany, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of the most famous places is the Duomo, the cathedral with a tiled dome designed by Brunelleschi and Giotto's bell tower. The Accademia Gallery displays Michelangelo's sculpture of David while in the Uffizi Gallery there are The Birth of Venus by Botticelli and the Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci.

Bologna
Bologna is the lively and ancient capital of Emilia-Romagna, in Northern Italy. Its Piazza Maggiore is a large square surrounded by porticoes, rooms and medieval and Renaissance structures such as Palazzo d'Accursio, the Fountain of Neptune and the Basilica of San Petronio. Among the medieval towers of the city, the two leaning towers of the Asinelli and that of the Garisenda stand out.

Capraia Island
Capraia is a small Italian island off the coast of Tuscany. It has protected national park status, and is extremely unspoiled and rich in wildlife. With hillside footpaths and lovely views, Capraia is a great get-away for hikers and nature-lovers. Capraia is reached by daily ferries from the Tuscan port Livorno, close to Pisa.
